Mundukide and Harreman launch the four-session cycle “Understanding the World in Order to Change It” in Arrasate
A proposal to better understand the world and reflect on the impact of our decisions on society and the planet
Mundukide and Harreman have organized a four-session cycle aimed at the general public in Arrasate, with the goal of fostering critical reflection on the world we live in and on the consequences of our economic and social decisions, as well as our consumption habits.
The cycle will be held under the slogan “Understanding the World in Order to Change It” and will be facilitated by Beñat Arzadun Olaizola, a member of Mundukide. The initiative will offer a space for analysis and debate based on data, moving away from discussions built solely on opinion. Its aim is to gain insight into the living conditions of the 8 billion people who inhabit the planet and to understand how our ways of life are connected to issues such as inequality, poverty, health, and environmental impact.
The cycle is based on a key idea: in an interconnected world, what happens in one place affects others, and our economic, social, and consumption decisions have consequences beyond our immediate surroundings. Understanding these interconnections is the first step toward driving social change.
The sessions will be structured around four thematic axes: wealth, health, inequality, and poverty. Global data from international organizations and research centers will be analyzed, posing questions and collectively building a broader perspective on major global challenges.
The cycle is open to students, teachers, professionals in the social and educational fields, as well as anyone interested in social justice and sustainability. The format will combine data presentation and analysis with collective debate, encouraging a critical understanding of global realities.
