Ulma passed the baton to the university at the closing ceremony of the 11th edition
The 11th Mundukide Solidarity Race (MLS) was held on 18 October at the Urkulu reservoir in Aretxabaleta. One of its most special moments came at the closing ceremony, when Ibon Calvo, president of Ulma Group, passed the baton to Idoia Peñakoba, secretary general of Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The university will organise the next two editions together with the cooperatives Copreci and Athlon.
We would like to thank Ulma for its commitment to organising the race over the past two years. Ulma Group has been a member of Mundukide’s board of trustees since Mundukide was founded in 1999, and it has been a steadfast companion in development cooperation.
This year’s edition brought together 390 people from 33 cooperatives. In the children’s and youth races, 54 boys and girls took part, 157 people joined the walk and 49 teams ran the X3 race. In addition, 30 volunteers helped with the organisation on race day.
