Itziar Aranburu, partner of Ulma Forja, will work in the Brazil program
4 October 2021
Itziar Aranburu Agirre, partner of ULMA Forja Cooperatiba, will be a Mundukide worker for the next two years and will collaborate with the Landless Workers Movement in Brazil.
Thanks to the collaboration agreement signed by ULMA and Mundukide in 2017, the Oñatiarra is the second Ulma member to participate in the said program. The first was the rampaging Etor Arregi Unda and he worked for 3 years as an advisor for the MST agricultural production cooperatives in the states of Rio Grande Do Sul and Ceará.
Itziar has taken a 2-year leave of absence in her cooperative and has become an employee of the Mundukide Foundation since last Friday, as a result of the agreement signed between the president of the Ulma Foundation, Lander Díaz de Gereñu, and the director of Mundukide, Josu Urrutia, at Mundukide’s office in Arrasate.
The director of Mundukide assures that cooperatives are one of the pillars of Mundukide and that its working partners are the most suitable people to share their experience and knowledge around the world.
For Lander Diaz de Gereñu, the opportunity offered by Mundukide is an enriching experience for members and a unique opportunity to put cooperative values such as universal solidarity into practice.
Itziar found the job announcement interesting, so she became interested and took the step to inquire about it. After learning about the cooperation program in Brazil and the appropriate conditions offered by the ULMA cooperative, he has easily made the decision.
Mundukide’s main mission in Brazil is to contribute to the socioeconomic development of settled and camped families that are part of the Landless Workers Movement. For this, Mundukide offers management training with cooperators such as Itziar, people of reference in the same, so that they improve the performance of cooperatives in all their steps, from production to marketing.
